Nebraska Final Paycheck Law
Under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 48-1230, whenever an employer separates an employee from the payroll, unpaid wages become due on the next regular payday or within two weeks of the termination, whichever is sooner — the same rule for firings and resignations.
Nebraska's definitions section does real work here: under § 48-1229, wages include fringe benefits, and earned but unused vacation leave is expressly part of the wages due and payable at separation — other types of paid leave only if the employer agreed to pay them out. Claims run under the Wage Payment and Collection Act, with attorney's fees available in court.
